What is Polarizer film?

Polarizer film absorbs light only in the molecular axis direction but allows light in the perpendicular direction to pass through. The polarizer is one of the key components of an LCD. Its function is to control the transmittance or shielding of light, to enhance colour contrast and provide crucial characteristics of the LCD.

General construction of Polarizer

The polarizer is basically structured in 3 layers; polarizing film (PVA) sandwiched between support layers (TAC) on both sides. Onto this bare polarizer, additional treatments are applied such as adhesive, reflector, hard coating, antiglare, anti-reflection and other surface treatments.
Typical sizes available: 10.4',12.1',14.1',15.0',15.4',17.0',19.0',20.1',23.0', and 26.0' up to 42' for LCD TV.
